A MIUI theme developer just made a version of Dynamic Island for Android. Xiaomi is yet to approve for its phones.
Apple’s Dynamic Island is the iPhone 14 Pro’s biggest selling point, and a theme developer has devised an Android feature that duplicates it.
TechDroider’s Vaibhav Jain tweeted a video displaying a Dynamic Island-style area for alerts. A MIUI theme developer built the feature, but Xiaomi hasn’t approved it.
Grumpy UI is a Chinese-only theme. This feature turns the little pill into a multitasking tool that lets you flip between apps without closing them. In the footage, a user plays music from the home screen.
Its function is akin to how the notification shade on Android phones works, except that it houses them all in a small pill-shaped area. This one doesn’t include the front-facing camera, unlike Apple’s Dynamic Island.

The theme won’t duplicate iPhone 14 Pro’s Dynamic Island, despite the video. MIUI’s theme engine simply skins UI elements, not system behavior.
Android’s notification system makes managing app and service alerts easier than iPhone’s. Dynamic Island-like functionality won’t work on Android. This MIUI theme should enable you experience the feature without owning an iPhone.
Xiaomi is reviewing the theme. Once approved, it’ll be added to the MIUI theme store.
