If you’re anything like us, you can’t wait for next week’s Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event. We expect new pro-level earphones and wearables to lure you away from the Pixel 7. There have been many leaks about Samsung’s forthcoming folding phone, however official information differs from rumours. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is currently listed on Amazon Netherlands.
Along with the S Pen case and display specifications, Amazon Netherlands has listed the new phone’s colour as beige. This colour name, however, may not be final. One of the listing images also shows the phone in black or dark grey, while the new S Pen case appears to be grey with a hint of green.
Amazon has released Z Fold 4 display sizes and renderings. The 6.2″ outer screen has a 23.1:9 aspect ratio, while the 7.6″ inner screen has a 21.6:18 ratio. Both displays are technically the same size as last year’s model, but have wider aspect ratios. We also have exact body dimensions, so start measuring your pockets now — it’s not much smaller than before. It’s the same width when folded as before, and while 15.8mm when closed isn’t as thick as last year’s hinge, it’s still quite thick.
The images in the listing also revealed new Samsung phone software. While Amazon Netherlands does not list the specifics of the software that will be loaded onto the Galaxy Z Fold 4, the photos bear a striking resemblance to the teaser photos of Android 12L. Late last year, Android announced its 12L software and promised updates for foldable phones.
There are, however, some minor differences between the photos in the listing and the 12L teaser photos. The images in the listing show a couple of additional taskbar buttons. It will be difficult to know for certain what the software show in the listing is until Samsung Unpack, when the company is to reveal details on new releases such as the Galaxy Z Fold 4.
The date for Samsung Unpack event is August 10 and there is a chance that it will provide consumers with official information on the Galaxy Z Fold 4. Samsung could also unveil the Galaxy Watch 5 and the Galaxy Bud 2 earbuds.
