Motorola’s 200MP smartphone has been in the works for months. Lenovo-owned Moto launched the Moto X30 Pro in China in August. Motorola Edge 30 Ultra is the global version of this super-res cameraphone. The Edge 30 Fusion and Edge 30 Neo are also mid-range smartphones.
Specs
The 200MP Edge 30 Ultra has everything you’d expect from a current Android flagship. It has a 6.67-inch FHD+ (2400 x 1080) plastic-OLED screen and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The flagship has 12GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage, or 8GB+128GB.
Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 covers the Edge 30 Ultra’s screen and rear panel. So Motorola isn’t compromising on design. The rear camera has a 200MP (f/1.9) sensor, 50MP ultrawide (f/2.2), and 12MP depth camera. A 60MP f/2.2 wide-angle camera is centred on the display.
Battery Power
The phone has a 4,610mAh battery and 125W fast wired charging. It enables 50W wireless fast charging and 10W reverse charging. EU and UK price starts at €900 and £750 for Interstellar Black and Starlight White.
The Edge 30 Fusion has a 6.55-inch pOLED screen with FHD+ resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. Its form is identical to the Edge 30 Ultra, but the back camera arrangement is different: 50MP f/1.8 primary sensor, 13MP f/2.2 ultrawide unit, and 2MP f/2.4 depth camera. 32MP f/2.5 selfie camera is wide-angle.
Color availability
Cosmic Grey, Aurora White, Solar Gold, and Neptune Blue are Fusion colorways (with vegan leather).
Motorola worked with Pantone for the Neo’s Aqua Foam, Very Peri, Black Onyx, and Ice Palace hues. Motorola says this is just the beginning of a multi-year partnership using Pantone’s colour science.
Price and availability
Motorola Edge 30 Ultra and Fusion go on sale today in Argentina, Brazil, and Europe for €899 and €599, respectively. Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia will follow. No U.S. launch is planned.
Motorola Edge 30 Neo will come in Europe and Latin America soon for €369 each.
