Google has shared monthly Android Google Play system updates for nearly a year. This month we’ve seen updates to Google Kids Space. Google later incorporated Wear OS functionality and password warnings. New Play Store and Play Protect-related features are now available.
Google wants consumers to make smarter app-installing judgments. To that aim, it’s expanding the information displayed in Play Store listings, though the firm hasn’t said what’s changing and we haven’t seen it. We’ll watch for new permissions or needs.
This suggests it’s a server-side update, and Google will take its time rolling it out. Another Android 13 feature is interesting. Android 13 phones will show Play Protect security info in the Settings app’s Security and Privacy page.
The Play System update also adds a new menu for wide screens in landscape mode and a secondary menu to browse recommended apps for Wear OS, Android TV, or Android Auto from Android phones. A Play Store Wear OS update makes it easier to find recommended apps.
This Play System update includes speed optimizations, bug fixes, and security, stability, and accessibility enhancements. The website has further info.
