Play Store has just debuted Google Pixel Watch app

The official Pixel Watch companion app is now available in the Play Store before today’s Made by Google event.

The Pixel Watch was revealed at Google I/O in May and runs Wear OS 3. The Pixel Watch requires its own companion app instead of the “Wear OS by Google Smartwatch” app.

The Google Pixel Watch app’s Play Store listing was made public this morning, allowing enthusiasts to pre-install it. First, you’ll see a new symbol akin to Google’s four-color designs. The Pixel Watch app symbol uses two hues of blue to depict clock hands.

The listing shows Pixel Watch watch faces, tiles, and colour possibilities. You’ll also discover watch and phone notification settings and a collection of tiles.

If you’re using a device running on Android 8 Oreo or higher, you can download the app right now, even without a Pixel Watch. However, if you try to use the app without the smartwatch, it will just show you a page with hyperlinked text that says “No watch? Time to get one!” If you tap on the text, you’ll just be directed to the Google store home page.
