Release date

The Oppo Reno 8 has no official release date, and the manufacturer hasn’t confirmed the reports. We’ll reference an earlier generation.

Oppo launched the Reno 7 series in November 2021; the devices go on sale in China on December 3 and in India in February. The Oppo Reno 6 series came in China in May 2021, so the Reno 8 could arrive in May 2022.

The Reno 8 may be priced between the OnePlus and the Reno 7 or closer to the OnePlus.

The Reno 8 sports a 6.43-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display, 90Hz refresh rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Android 12 and ColorOS 12.1 are installed. The screen is 800 nits bright and 20:9. The Oppo smartphone has an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1300 SoC, 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The Reno 8 includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor and f/1.8 lens for photos and videos. There’s also a 2-megapixel macro camera with a 112-degree field of view and an 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 lens.

The Reno 8 connects through 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.3, GPS/A-GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C. Sensors include an accelerometer, light, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor. The phone contains a concealed fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. Reno 8’s 4,500mAh battery supports 80W Super Flash Charge. 160 x 73.4 x 7.67mm, 179g.

Oppo Reno 8 Pro

The Reno 8 Pro has a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,0802,412) AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. ColorOS 12.1 runs on Android 12 The display is Netflix HD, Amazon HDR, SGS Low Motion Blur, and SGS Low Blue Light certified. The smartphone sports an eight-core MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max SoC and 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Oppo Reno 8 Pro has 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

The Reno 8 Pro has a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens, an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens and f/2.2 aperture, and a 2-megapixel macro camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The phone’s camera will operate better in bright and dim light with the MariSilicon X NPU. It boasts a 32-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.4 lens.

Connectivity choices include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.3, GPS/A-GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C. The phone has an accelerometer, light metre, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor. Both the Oppo Reno 8 and Reno 8 Pro are premium, affordable smartphones that may fulfil any user’s needs. If you prefer photography, the quality is good, but neither phone is water proof, so be careful.
