Google has started mailing out invites for its October 6 hardware presentation and gadgets debut at 10AM ET. The event will introduce the Pixel 7 phones and Pixel Watch, which were announced at Google I/O earlier this year. Google will also reveal new Nest smart home products.
Google’s announcement comes a day before Apple’s Far Out event, where it will unveil the iPhone 14. Since Google’s last event, supposed leaks have disclosed more about the Watch and phones. The Pixel 7’s product page says it’ll be powered by a next-gen chip called the Tensor G2.
“We’ll also reveal Nest smart home portfolio additions,” the company blog says. We won’t know what to expect from Google until the show next month. Google said in a blog post, “All the devices will be shoppable the same day at GoogleStore.com or in our New York City stores.”
Smart home products? A fresh report says the cheaper Chromecast could be released in the next few weeks. Google keeps Chromecast distinct from Nest, so there may be other products.
Google has announced it will debut the 2nd iteration of its wired Nest Doorbell by 2022, so this is one of its last chances to do so this year. Plus, an updated Nest Wi-Fi may be released. Or something else. Less than a month remains.
