Fitbit announced that it will have a launch event for its smartwatches on August 24. This was a surprise to everyone, so I hope you don’t have anything planned for that day.
The company made the announcement in a recent Tweet that said, “Mark your calendar.”
The teaser image gives us a good idea of what to expect from this launch event. We might see something related to their Sense 2 and Versa 4 Fitbit smartwatches.
Just a few weeks ago, leaks on the internet showed us not only high-quality drawings of the devices, but also real pictures of the watches in the wild. The renders gave us our first look at the Inspire 3 as well as the Versa 4 and the Sense 2.
We know that both the Versa 4 and the Sense 2 have a new physical button. The Sense 2 might come in gold, graphite, and platinum colours. On the other hand, it is shown in graphite and rose on the Versa 4 renders.
We still don’t know a lot about these smartwatches, but it looks like we’ll find out more than we thought sooner than we thought.
A new app analysis suggests Google Wallet will be enabled on a Fitbit wearable for the first time. Since Google owns Fitbit, this makes reasonable. We’ll know more when the Sense 2 and Versa 4 are available.
It’s unclear how the Sense and Versa will integrate in with Google’s upcoming Wear OS wearable.
On top of that, when the Pixel Watch comes out, it will be able to track Fitbit data and do more. We’ll have to wait and see what this official launch event has in store.
