A few strings in the teardown suggested the smartwatch’s battery life isn’t impressive. When enabled, a reminder tells Pixel Watch owners to charge their device before bedtime if the battery is low. The reminder states that “a full night’s sleep” requires a 30% charge. APK teardowns don’t always guarantee a feature’s final release. This confirms previous rumours that the Pixel Watch’s battery will only last 24 hours per charge.
This in-app description is consistent with earlier rumours about the wearable’s battery life. 9to5 noted that a 30% charge seems reasonable for an eight-hour night’s sleep. This equals 24 hours of battery life. Google should improve its 24-hour battery life if it wants to compete with the best Android smartwatch.
